Abstract

On the basis of the free energy expansion, the low-symmetry orbital phases originating from the high-temperature crystal phase with the ( ) 16 2h D Pnma symmetry in Pr1-xCaxMnO3 ( 5.0 3.0 ≤ ≤x ) manganite are investigated. The free order parameter susceptibilities and elastically clamped ones in these phases are calculated..
