Abstract

The elaboration of nanocrystaline Mg-Ni a loys by mechanical alloying method is described. The ba l miling was followed by a thermal treatment for recrystalization of amorphous powders. For improving the storage properties of the Mg2Ni compound we used additions of metalic oxides like catalysts (V2O5, TiO2). The obtained materials were characterised by XRD and SEM. The influence of processing parameters (atmosphere, miling time) on grain size evolution and miling efficiency is discussed. The results of some preliminary experiments of hydruration are presented..
