Abstract
The paper presents new types of organic-inorganic hybrid materials obtained from an azo dye bearing chelating groups and triethoxysilane residues and tetraethoxysilane derivatives frequently used in sol-gel processes. Hybrid materials obtained were studied in processes involving extraction and removal of Fe3+ ions from aqueous solutions at different pH values. The organic chromogen with alkoxysilane residues and hybrid materials before and after complexation with Fe3+ ions were characterized by XRF spectrometry, FT-IR spectrometry, UV-VIS reflexion spectra, color measurements in CIELAB system and thermal analysis..
