CeF3: Tb3+/SiO2 (core/shell) nanostructure:surface coating and photoluminescence

Abstract

CeF3: Tb3+/SiO2 (Core/Shell) with nanostructure were prepared by a complex method based on the surface modification of CeF3: Tb3+ nanoparticles, which crystallized well with a hexagonal structure. The mean grain size of CeF3: Tb3+ and CeF3: Tb3+/SiO2 are 10 nm and 14 nm, respectively. Both of them showed green emission corresponded 5D4 –7FJ transition of Tb3+, and especially the silica film increased the luminescent intensity and lifetimes of CeF3: Tb3+ nanoparticles..
