Abstract

The CdTe/CdS thin film solar cell structure was depositedon the fluorine tin oxide(FTO) coated glass substrate using radio frequency (RF)magnetron sputteringsystem.CdTe/CdS thin film solar cells were produced using back metal contacts (Pt, Ni, Au,and Ag) with different work functions. The structural properties of the thinfilmwere analyzedby X-ray Diffraction(XRD)method. For allsolar cells, the fundamental solar cell parameters such as short circuit current (ISC), open-circuit voltage (VOC), fill factor (FF),and energy conversion efficiency () were determined from current-voltage(I–V)characteristics inthedark and under AM1.5G(100 mW/cm2)..
