A new type of TiO2 nano SiO2 hybrid film was prepared by mixing TiO2 with the nano sized SiO2 powder. The size of CdSe quantum dots (QDs) was about 2.6nm The spin coating method wa was applied to prepare CdSe QDs sens itized the TiO2 nano SiO2 hybrid film for the quantum dots sensitized solar cells QDSSCs application. It is found that the introduction of SiO2 and the capped ligands show notable influence on the photovoltaic performance. The power conversion efficiency of 1.74% was achieved by using the TiO2 nano SiO2 hybrid film modified with MPA MPA-capped CdSe TiO2 nano SiO2/CdSe(MPA)) under the illumination of one sun (AM1.5, 100mW/cm 2.
