Abstract
The azomethine resulted from the reaction of 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde with 1,3-bis(3-aminopropyl)tetramethyldisiloxane was used as a ligand for lanthanum complexation. The structure of the formed chelate was verified by spectral analyses. This complex, soluble in some common organic solvents, was tested as a sensing element in a gas sensor device for NOx and CO2 detection..
