Abstract

Band structure calculations were performed on disordered FexPd100-x solid solutions as well as on FePd and FePd3 ordered compounds. The equilibrium values of the lattice parameters, magnetic moments, Curie temperatures, pressure effects as well as spontaneous volume magnetostrictions were obtained and compared with the experimental data. A good description of experimental results has been shown. The magnetic properties were correlated with distances between iron atoms, as suggested by the Néel-Slater curve..
