Abstract

The paper is devoted to presenting a novel approach to the assessment of the nanotopography of titanium plate surfaces with nanomodified coatings, as well as determining surface roughness parameters using carbon nanoparticles with a pronounced dipole moment. The nanoparticles, with a size of 30 nm comparable to the surface autocorrelation length, are placed in an external electric field and investigated using structured optical beams within a specially designed optical setup. The developed algorithm has been validated and, for the first time, enables reconstruction of both the surface nanostructure and the statistical roughness parameters based on the obtained set of luminescence intensity values from randomly distributed carbon nanoparticles. The achieved relative error ranges from ±1% to 2-4%, depending on the analyzed statistics surface parameter. Moreover, the use of nanoparticles provides a pathway to overcome diffraction limitations imposed by the Abbe resolution criterion, enabling spatial resolution on the order of ~30 nm, corresponding to the nanoparticle size..
