Abstract

A variety of silver nanodispersions were synthesized in aqueous solutions of polyelectrolytes obtained from alternating copolymers of maleic anhydride with styrene sulfonide (StSO3, MA) and with vinyl acetate (VAc-MA). The smaller size of the aggregates depends on the concentration of the organic component and assure Ag° particle stability. Synthesized nanoparticles were observed by XRD and SEM analyses and evidenced the presence of face centered cubic structured nanocrystals, with a higher degree of structural order in solid phase for low polyelectrolyte concentrations. DLS analyzes show that Ag0 nanoparticles dimensions increases with the increase of the polyelectrolyte concentration. Using UV, fluorescence and X-ray spectra analysis we have explored the effects of Ag0 nanoparticles presence..
