Abstract

This paper reports some results concerning the preparation and magnetic properties of Fe-Ni and Cu-Ni composite coatings obtained by codeposition process. Fe-Ni and Cu-Ni composite coatings were electrochemically synthesized from iron and copper sulphate baths, respectively, containing Ni nanoparticles with sizes ranging between 250 and 500 nm. The surface morphology of the obtained coatings was studied by scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Structural investigations of the samples were performed by X-ray diffraction technique. The reduced hysteresis loops as well as the temperature dependence of the reduced magnetization was carried out using a vibrating sample magnetometer, in an external magnetic field of 600 kA/m..
