Abstract

In this article, thermal diffusivity of Ag nanoparticles prepared by UV-irradiation technique was measured. It was found that by increasing UV irradiation time the size of particles decreased. The X-ray diffraction pattern indicates the presence of crystalline Ag and the average grains size were obtained in the range of 5 to18 nm. The thermal diffusivity of the prepared samples was measured by standard dual beam mode mismatched thermal lens technique. The results showed that the value of thermal diffusivity increases with increasing the particles size. We have explained our finding by phonon scattering at interface of particles and surrounded liquid..
