Abstract

An eco-friendly method for the microwave-assisted synthesis of silver nanoparticles in the presence of tannic acid acting both as stabilizer and reducing agent has been examined. To follow up the realtime reaction changes, the microwaveassisted synthesis was carried out directly inside the quartz cell of the UV – VIS spectrophotometer used for analysis. The forming mechanism of the silver nanoparticles was studied by correlation between the recorded UV – VIS spectra and results obtained by DLS and TEM analysis..
