Abstract

Photonic devices based on metasurfaces are widely applied in 5G, 6G, and wireless communication due to their rich resonant properties. Here, a dual-mode tunable metasurface is fabricated and optimized in the 0.5 - 4.0 THz range. Two absorption peaks exhibit various resonant characteristics and sensing capabilities: electric field modulation, magnetic field modulation, and temperature modulation. In the detailed experiments, three sensing performances are verified:the voltage sensitivities are: 0.108 THz/V and 0.088 THz/V, the magnetic field sensitivities are: 0.056 THz/Oe and 0.061 THz/Oe, the temperature sensitivities are: 2.465 THz/K and 3.830 THz/K.This metasurface exhibits diverse resonant characteristics and sensing features that are distinct from those of traditional metamaterials/metasurfaces. These measurement results provide a foundation for the development of multifunctional optoelectronic sensing devices..
